Our History
Wideman Construction Company was founded in 1939 by Clay Wideman and has been a family business for over 70 years. The company started out in residential construction and installed its first pool which was concrete in the 1950’s. In 1980 a banker asked Clay and Dennis Wideman to install a fiberglass pool at his house. The following year they installed a few more pools and by the mid 80’s Wideman Pools was installing as many as 50 fiberglass pools per year! Wideman Pools is still a locally owned, family business, and continues to provide unsurpassed service with quality products.
We can speak from over 40 years of proven experience in the fiberglass pool industry that the very best products are still made right here in the USA.

Everything from our pool lights and PVC fittings to the pool shell itself is manufactured here in our country by American companies. Meet the Team
Rodney & Krystle Wideman Owners
Rodney worked with his Grandpa Clay & Dad Dennis learning the family business and is now the third generation owner of Wideman Pools. He has perfected his craft and expertise in this field with 25+ years of hands-on experience. He received his Bachelor’s degree in business from Missouri Baptist University, where he also earned his MBA in 2009. His wife, Krystle, when not participating in church and community projects, is in our office helping our customers too! They have three children, Clayton, Estelle, Kenna, and a basset hound named Dolly. Family time is the number one priority and much of it is spent in the backyard with the pool, firepit, and BBQ grill!
Ron Operations Manager Lead Installer
Ron attended Linn Tech College where he received his certification as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He has also completed numerous trainings related to the pool industry, and in-depth workshops with major brands such as Hayward & Pentair. On the weekends you can find him enjoying time at the racetrack with his wife and grandkids, or lounging in his beautiful Wideman Pool!
Mike K Service Technician
Mike has been a team member since 2020. His dedication to the community is commendable, as he has been a full time firefighter and EMT in the Jefferson County area for 10+ years! He grew up swimming in a Wideman Pool at his parent’s home, and we could not be happier to have him in our small business family!
Mike H Service Technician
Mike has been a team member since 2024 after he retired from his career with Spire Natural Gas. He is a member of the family too! When Mike isn’t busy with installations, he spends his time with his wife Amy and their family often traveling, playing games, and swimming too! We love having Mike on our team working with our family!
Joe Service Technician
Joe is a dedicated full-time firefighter paramedic with over a decade of experience in saving lives and serving his community. Outside of his demanding career, Joe is an avid hunter and traveler. You will likely find Joe outdoors making memories with his wife Stephanie and their family. Believe it or not, he is part of the family too! We are thrilled to have Joe working with us!

The competition is open only to PHTA member builders, designers, and service and retail firms. Many hundreds of entries are submitted each year, representing member firms from all over the world.
